Job#: 3025152 Job Description: We are seeking a Desktop Engineer/Support Technician for a new position at New Medical Prison located in Lexington, KY. Medical Prison is currently under construction & will be opening mid-2026.
Selected candidate would begin work splitting time shadowing existing technicians located at Blackburn Correctional (Lexington) & NorthPoint Training Center (Burgin) until official opening of the New Medical Prison.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Minimum 1-2yrs experience in Desktop Support or similar role
- Experience must include installation, troubleshooting, and repair of devices in a windows-based environment
- High aptitude for customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Be a team player
- Prioritization & time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure
Along with desktop duties selected candidate may be asked to assist with security cameras, servers, and network switches as needed. This position provides support to DOC staff within the Correctional Complex (estimated 225 devices). Work environment is hazardous due to working in a state correctional facility with convicted felons for work detail.
Qualified candidates must be twenty years of age, maintain a valid driver's license and be able to lift and carry heavy objects or work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time. The candidate must be able to pass a DOC background check and extensive drug test prior to starting. DOC requires completion of training that can last up to 2-3 weeks. This training will equip technicians to work, adapt, and conduct themselves in a prison environment.
