Metrology Technician | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance on metrology equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Develop and maintain calibration procedures and documentation in accordance with quality standards.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate reports to support product quality and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and measurement system analyses (MSA) to validate measurement processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years experience as a Metrology Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other metrology equipment (e.g., optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with metrology software for data analysis and reporting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and application.
  • Experience with calibration and preventative maintenance of metrology equipment.
