Reliability Engineer | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Portage region seeking Reliability Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
  • Optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs and schedules.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify reliability risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reliability improvement projects.
  • Specify and evaluate new equipment for reliability and maintainability.
  • Develop and track key reliability metrics and KPIs.
  • Provide technical expertise and training on reliability best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on reliability engineering.
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other reliability tools.
  • Strong understanding of predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification.
  • Experience with condition monitoring technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
  • Experience with EAM/CMMS software implementation or optimization.
