The Software Engineer 4 (Sr. SQL Server Developer with Tableau experience) will support a high-visibility, home-grown policy governance platform used for RAPU, regulatory, and policy updates. This is a greenfield-enhancement initiative where the platform is already built and continues to expand with new capabilities. The role requires lead-level technical depth in SQL Server and Tableau, supporting a high-user-activity application through data modeling, performance tuning, and reporting. This contractor will collaborate closely with stakeholders while adhering to strict regulatory, compliance, and governance standards. The role does not include people management responsibilities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, UDFs)
- Perform advanced SQL performance tuning for high-volume and high-usage systems
- Support Tableau dashboard and report development for business and compliance stakeholders
- Participate in Scrum-based Agile development on a growing greenfield platform
- Contribute to enhancements of a policy governance platform supporting RAPU and regulatory updates
- Partner with application developers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient data solutions
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Review code and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production systems; overnight release participation only in rare circumstances
