Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Foreman to lead and manage installation projects for commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician capable of running a job with a helper, reading blueprints, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. This role requires travel within a 100-mile radius of Gainesville and offers opportunities for growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of new, retrofit, and tenant improvement fire sprinkler projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints and BIM designs to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
- Cut, thread, and groove pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, pipe threaders, and pipe wrenches.
- Manage job scheduling and progress, coordinating with various contractors to resolve conflicts.
- Provide guidance and support to other installers and helpers on the crew.
- Conduct inspections and interact with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for testing.
- Assess daily job requirements, plan future work, and identify material and equipment needs.
- Comply with all industry-standard procedures and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Foreman or Fitter is required. Candidates must have experience running their own jobs with a helper or apprentice.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints independently. Experience with cutting off thread rod with a band saw, threading on a pipe machine, and using grooved couplings is necessary.
Other Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and be willing to use a personal vehicle during the contract period for travel to job sites within a 100-mile radius of Gainesville, including areas like Ocala, Lake City, and Trenton.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial or industrial projects valued at $200,000 or more.
- Possession of a Journeyman license or completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
- Relevant certifications, such as those from NICET.
Compensation
The compensation for this position is between $28 and $34.00 per hour. The permanent salary range is between $49,920.00 and $70,720.00 annually.
