Metrology Technician | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Allegan region seeking Metrology Technicians. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning metrology instruments.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and maintain calibration records.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and work instructions.
  • Analyze measurement data and identify trends or deviations.
  • Support engineers in the selection and implementation of new measurement technologies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized metrology lab environment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing dimensional inspection and calibration.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and programming CMMs, vision systems, and other metrology equipment.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and gage R&R.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T schematics.
  • Knowledge of calibration software and asset management systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
