Metrology Technician | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on measurement equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning metrology equipment.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and maintain calibration records.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of new measurement tools.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on measurement techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized metrology lab environment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing metrology lab or quality control role.
  • Proficient in operating and programming CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and other measurement equipment (e.g., optical comparators, vision systems, hand tools).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with calibration processes and maintaining measurement uncertainty.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with various CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
  • Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
