Metrology Technician | Kalamazoo, MI

Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning metrology instruments.
  • Document calibration results and maintain accurate records in a calibration management system.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and work instructions.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Support engineering and production teams in resolving measurement-related problems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized metrology laboratory environment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Metrology Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications (ASME Y14.5).
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating and programming various metrology equipment, including CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Experience with metrology software such as Calypso, PC-DMIS, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles and measurement uncertainty.
