Role Overview
The Programmer Analyst performs technical, analytical, support, and leadership functions to help meet organizational goals. This role is responsible for programming business solutions based on requirements across all business areas. The position involves developing efficient and effective program and system solutions to solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret business requirements and develop design specifications.
- Write and test code or configurations to implement business requirements using approved technologies.
- Design, develop, and perform acceptance testing of new reports, programs, and models.
- Review, analyze, and enhance configuration and programming systems, including coding, testing, and debugging.
- Consult with users to identify operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
- Write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and changes.
- Oversee and direct projects and assist in the training of staff.
- Assist and mentor other team members and internal business partners.
- Proactively identify issues and concerns to management.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Operational Technology Management, Computer Science, Operations Research, or an equivalent related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
Experience: 10+ years of job-related work experience, including 4+ years of prior work experience in healthcare and healthcare business processes.
Technical Skills:- Expert proficiency in code development using multiple reporting tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, SAS, SSRS), ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Data Stage, SSIS), and SQL coding (e.g., Toad, PGAdmin).
- Familiarity with relational databases and client-server concepts.
- Knowledge of light application development using tools such as LightSwitch/Visual Studio.
- Demonstrated expert skill level in solutions architecture and design.
General Competencies
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid oral and written communication skills, including presentation and technical writing.
- Demonstrated success with project management, including handling multiple, concurrent projects.
- Ability to work independently on complex projects with large financial or risk impact.
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and methodologies.
- Understanding of business process improvement, benefit and risk management, and software testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare and healthcare business processes is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $46.00/hour to $51.00/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office environment, but this position is remote. Travel may be required, locally or out of state. Work outside normal hours may be required.
