Controls Engineer | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Fremont that are seeking Controls Engineers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots for automated production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and software issues in control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define control system requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics and software code.
  • Implement and optimize process control strategies to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on control systems.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred) and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, robotics, vision systems, and motion control.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical design, panel layout, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
