Metrology Technician | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Ludington region seeking Metrology Technicians. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning metrology instruments.
  • Document calibration results and maintain accurate records in calibration management software.
  • Develop and optimize calibration procedures and methods.
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on measurement techniques.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and measurement system analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing metrology lab or quality control environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other measurement equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Calibration experience with various metrology equipment.
  • Experience with 3D scanning technologies and software.
