Metrology Technician | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Manistee region seeking Metrology Technicians. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, adjustment, and repair of precision measuring equipment.
  • Utilize various metrology tools and software for dimensional inspection and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration data and equipment history.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy and equipment functionality.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on proper measurement techniques.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of metrology processes and systems.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, performing metrology tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of various measurement tools, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming and operation).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles beyond basic interpretation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for model-based inspection.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT).
