Metrology Technician | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hart that are seeking skilled Metrology Technicians. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on metrology equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment and systems.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and protocols.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate calibration reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calibration activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and training to other technicians on metrology best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, performing dimensional inspection and calibration.
  • Proficient in operating and programming CMMs, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in inspection and measurement.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration software and maintaining calibration records.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming, vision systems).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Calibration experience for a variety of metrology equipment.
  • Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, Minitab).
