Help Desk Technician | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Allendale that are seeking skilled Help Desk Technicians. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing software and hardware.
  • Resolve IT issues related to production machinery and operational technology (OT).
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals on the plant floor.
  • Document and track all support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Assist with the deployment and support of new manufacturing IT systems and applications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on industrial control systems and network infrastructure.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers) and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing-specific software or systems (e.g., MES, SCADA, ERP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems
  • Basic understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) functionality
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
