Help Desk Technician | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Jenison that are seeking skilled Help Desk Technicians. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for manufacturing software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with production line equipment and control systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT infrastructure within the plant.
  • Document support tickets, resolutions, and common problems for knowledge base.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of new manufacturing technology.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize system performance and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and manufacturing-specific equipment (e.g., PLCs, HMIs).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) and experience with network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and incident tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with SCADA systems or other manufacturing control systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS).
  • Basic understanding of PLC functionality and industrial networking protocols.
  • Certifications in ITIL, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
