Help Desk Technician | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Hudsonville region seeking Help Desk Technicians. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing software and hardware.
  • Resolve IT issues related to production machinery and control systems.
  • Document, track, and monitor IT incidents and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on computers and peripherals in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of new workstations and specialized equipment on the factory floor.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to address system deficiencies and improve uptime.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing-specific software (e.g., MES, ERP, SCADA) and industrial control systems.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with SCADA systems or other industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS).
  • Basic understanding of networking in an industrial environment (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for operational technology (OT) environments.
