Help Desk Technician | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing software and hardware.
  • Resolve IT issues related to production machinery and operational technology (OT).
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals on the factory floor.
  • Document and track all support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Assist in network connectivity and security for manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades of IT infrastructure in production areas.
  • Support users with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) applications.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware (e.g., PCs, printers, scanners) and software (e.g., Windows OS, MS Office Suite) issues
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) and basic Active Directory administration
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management best practices
  • Ability to provide support for specialized manufacturing software or machinery (e.g., PLCs, HMIs) a plus

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) in a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) or SCADA.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles for industrial environments (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
  • Experience supporting specialized manufacturing software (e.g., MES, CAD/CAM).
