Description
We are looking for an experienced Security Manager to oversee the design, operation, and security of IT infrastructure within our organization. This role will lead a dedicated team while ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and protection of critical systems. As a hands-on leader, you will combine technical expertise with strategic insight to support the organization's goals. This is a long-term contract position based in Springfield, Vermont.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, group policies, and related systems.
Oversee Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration to ensure seamless operations and security.
Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V to maintain system performance and scalability.
Develop and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability assessments, risk remediation, and incident response.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific data security standards, particularly in healthcare.
Supervise and mentor IT staff, providing guidance and support for skill development.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to optimize infrastructure solutions.
Evaluate and modernize IT systems, spearheading upgrades and new implementations as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise network and systems administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Azure AD management.
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, routing, firewalls, and switching.
Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity practices and risk management.
Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams effectively.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on documentation and process improvement.
Preferred experience in healthcare IT systems and environments.
Certifications in security (e.g., Security+) or networking are highly desirable.
