Engineering Lead

Location: Dallas, Texas (Remote)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

An experienced Engineering Lead is sought to guide a development squad focused on delivering capabilities for a unified digital platform within a large enterprise healthcare organization. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for delivery execution, code quality, cross-team coordination, and partnership with the Product team. The squad works across EHR (Epic), CRM systems, web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a cross-functional squad in Epic, CRM, web, mobile, and API development.
  • Drive architecture and design decisions supporting the digital platform.
  • Translate product requirements into technical plans and delivery commitments.
  • Manage sprint execution, estimation, and production readiness.
  • Actively contribute to engineering efforts through hands-on development.
  • Perform and lead thorough pull request (PR) reviews.
  • Enforce high standards for code quality, testing, and security.
  • Leverage AI tools and agent-based workflows to improve code quality and developer productivity.
  • Champion CI/CD, automated testing, and observability best practices.
  • Partner with peer Engineering Leads to manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Collaborate with Product leadership to clarify scope and provide technical feasibility guidance.
Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience is required, with at least 2 years in a technical lead, architect, or team leadership capacity. Candidates must have experience integrating enterprise systems such as EHR, CRM, web, mobile, and APIs. Strong architectural experience in distributed or cloud-based systems is necessary, along with proven experience in conducting PR reviews, enforcing engineering standards, managing cross-team dependencies, and working within an Agile delivery framework.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic or other EHR integration.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is $70.00 to $90.00 per hour. The bill rate for this position is set at a maximum of $135.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
