The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision measurements using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain measurement tools and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Analyze measurement data and create detailed reports to support quality control and engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and optimize measurement processes.
  • Participate in the development and validation of new metrology techniques and equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and quality standards for inspection purposes.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of all measurement activities and equipment maintenance.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, performing calibration and measurement.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience with various metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty and calibration principles.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of metrology equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming and operation).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles beyond basic interpretation.
  • Calibration experience for various metrology equipment.
  • Ability to train others on metrology best practices and equipment usage.
