Technical Business Analyst

Location: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support the development and scaling of an Insurance Accounting System. This role involves creating detailed documentation for developers and testers to facilitate the creation of new features and enhancements. The ideal candidate will combine IT expertise with in-depth financial business knowledge to contribute to system development and application design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the software development pipeline, from feature prioritization to coordinating production deployment.
  • Develop detailed Acceptance Criteria and build a comprehensive library of use cases.
  • Lead backlog refinement and prioritization using tools such as Azure DevOps, collaborating with business sponsors, development teams, and project managers.
  • Manage reprioritization and negotiations between stakeholders as required.
  • Collaborate with project management to provide updates on software development progress against agreed milestones.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and emotional intelligence to build productive relationships.
  • Understand business functions, clients, and products to lead the team through change and solution issues.
Required Qualifications

Education: A college or university degree and relevant proven work experience.

Experience: Senior-level experience as a technical business analyst, preferably within the fintech industry. This includes significant experience leading software development teams and working with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software such as Jira or Azure DevOps. Ability to design and maintain technical documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is $60.00/hour to $65.00/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
