the following opening: Durational Project Manager

CURRENT SYSTEMS / PROJECTS OVERVIEW
The DMI DPM will ensure that modernization activities are strategically aligned with the agency’s central Project Management Office (PMO), adopting and reinforcing enterprise project management standards, templates, and reporting frameworks. This role will also provide leadership in developing project management tools, governance structures, and performance dashboards specific to DMI projects.

SCOPE OF WORK
Responsibilities:

·         Lead the coordination and oversight of the DMI portfolio.

·         Work in direct coordination with the central PMO to ensure DMI projects adhere to agency-wide project management standards, templates, and governance frameworks.

·         Develop, maintain, and institutionalize DMI-specific PMO tools and practices that complement the central PMO’s methodology and strengthen data modernization governance.

·         Manage project planning, execution, tracking, and reporting for all DMI-funded initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet grant requirements.

·         Establish and maintain performance dashboards and risk registers to monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.

·         Collaborate with data owners, technical leads, and program managers to ensure cross-system interoperability and data integration across modernization efforts.

·         Facilitate portfolio-level reporting and presentations for executive leadership, central PMO, and federal grant partners.

·         Conduct regular risk and impact analyses, identify interdependencies, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain program momentum.

·         Support documentation and compliance activities related to EPHT grant performance, including reporting, budget alignment, and deliverable tracking.

·         Promote alignment and transparency between modernization projects and statewide digital transformation priorities.

·         Provide technical assistance and training on project management tools, reporting methods, and PMO practices within the DMI team

Qualifications / Skills:

·         Advanced degree in Public Administration, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Project Management, or a related field.

·         5+ years of experience in project or portfolio management within large-scale technology or modernization initiatives.

·         Experience managing federally funded programs, including grant compliance and performance reporting.

·         Strong understanding of data modernization, public health informatics, and systems transformation frameworks.

·         Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a central PMO, aligning program-level projects to enterprise standards and governance models.

·         Proficiency in project management tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or equivalent systems.

·         Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

·         Preferred certification: PMP or equivalent credential
