Role: Healthcare Project Manager
Location: Newark, NJ - (twice) a month.
(Note: Health Insurance Payer Provider exp is needed)
Role Summary
The IT Project Manager will lead complex, high-visibility data and analytics projects within the Enterprise Data Services division. Projects typically include cloud data platform migrations (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure), master data management (MDM) implementations, enterprise data warehouse modernizations, data governance programs, real-time data streaming initiatives, and regulatory reporting solutions (e.g., Risk Adjustment, HEDIS, Medicare Advantage).
You will partner closely with data engineers, data architects, data governance teams, business stakeholders (Actuarial, Clinical, Underwriting, Provider Network, Compliance), and external vendors to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for enterprise data initiatives (e.g., data warehouse modernization, data lake buildouts, data quality programs, API integrations, MDM implementations).
- Develop project plans, timelines, resource models, sprint schedules, and work breakdown structures.
- Ensure delivery alignment with enterprise data strategy, data governance standards, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS guidelines, HITRUST).
- Identify, track, and prioritize project risks, issues, and dependencies; drive timely mitigation plans.
- Manage vendor and partner teams supporting data engineering, ETL, BI, and cloud platform workstreams.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (Claims Ops, Provider Ops, Actuarial, Care Management) and technical teams.
- Provide clear and consistent project updates to executives, data leadership, and cross-functional partners.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions, sprint reviews, technical design discussions, and change control processes.
Data & Technology Delivery
- Oversee implementation of data pipelines, ETL/ELT jobs, data models, APIs, and analytics platforms across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Work with enterprise architects to ensure solutions meet standards for scalability, security, and interoperability.
- Support data governance initiatives such as lineage documentation, data quality scoring, metadata management, and stewardship processes.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud strategy (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure), including cost optimization and performance standards.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and project expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI handling, and Enterprise Information Security guidelines.
- Drive adherence to SDLC, Agile, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
